A handy link to all the tracks in this week’s Wemix Wednesday is available here.

Haim – Forever (Giorgio Moroder Remix)
I gotta admit that other than the Giorgio Moroder trademark vocoder bit, this reminds me quite a bit of The Knocks remix of the same track that we featured back in Wemix Wednesday #13.  Maybe with a lil less hands-in-the-air o’clock action.

Giorgio Moroder – The Chase (Daft Punk Around The World Remix)
The fact that Giorgio Moroder’s track is from 1978 still gets me.

Arcade Fire – We Exist (Night Drive Edit)

Mario – Let Me Love You (Equator Club Remix)

Foxes – Youth (Lovelife Remix)
Don’t you love it when two bands you love either:
– write together
– collaborate
– have one produce for the other
– create a remix of the other’s content?
Well the last one has happened here and, as we’ve seen many times, Lovelife succeed once again.

MSMR – Think Of You (HAERTS Remix)
That thing we described above?  It happened twice this week.  Bow down.

Gorgon City – Ready For Your Love (MNEK Refix)
Will you go make a baby already?

The Hood Internet – The Complete Latch (Disclosure x Sam Smith x Blood Orange)
Kinda cheating by serving up a mashup on Wemix Wednesday instead of Mashup Monday but it’s totally worth it and you’ll thank me for it.

So back on Wemix Wednesday #5, I included a Cashmere Cat remix of Miguel’s “Do You…”.  It was around that time that I discovered Cashmere Cat’s original instrumental track Mirror Maru.  The harps, the playful squeaky bedspring effects, the simple piano chords are all layered over each other in a very AlunaGeorge-esque manner (kinda reminiscent of Put Up Your Hands).

The Hood Internet have given Cashmere Cat’s instrumental a more radio-friendly edge by pulling out the vocals from Kendrick Lamar’s “Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe” and weaving them into this:
