Last month, we wrote about Tom Aspaul’s fresh, bouncy pop gem, “Indiana“.  After including FTSE’s remix of Indiana on the single release, he’s gone and collaborated with them in a more official capacity.  In the process, he’s come up with something that would flow seamlessly if sandwiched into a playlist between AlunaGeorge‘s “Your Drums You Love” and Blood Orange‘s “Chamakay“.

Sexy neo soul and slow electronic R&B are so hot right now (for reference, think anything you’d hear from Solange’s record label, Saint Records, or the minimal-beats output of AlunaGeorge).

Jordin Sparks of American Idol and R&B pop fame has decided to get hot.  Damn hot.

Production responsibilities fell on the shoulders of Salaam Remi for this one.  Oh he’s only the guy who produced Fugees’s “Fu-Gee-La“, Amy Winehouse’s “Tears Dry on Their Own“, Mis-Teeq’s “Can’t Get It Back” (YES. MIS-TEEQ. I WENT THERE. YOU’RE WELCOME.), Jazmine Sullivan’s “Bust Your Windows“, Alicia Keys’s bleedin’ “Girl on Fire” and Miguel’s “How Many Drinks?“.  So, yes.  Quite the CV.

Jordin co-wrote this little didy with Elijah Blake.  He also wrote this little banger of a tune.  Well done lad.

Well done all the lads.  All the lads and ladies.  All the lads and ladies that made this happen.

The wonderful AlunaGeorge made their TV performance debut on Jools Holland this week.

The lads from Phoenix (who were also performing on the show) could only look on in awe:

They were really gobsmacked:

I saw AlunaGeorge perform at Pitchfork Paris last year. I can’t blame them.
Looking forward to seeing em again at Longitude this Summer!
